Schulte Group x Treedom: Growing a Greener Future Together

We are thrilled to announce the renewal of our partnership with Treedom, a global NGO dedicated to reforestation and community empowerment. Together, until the end of 2024, we have planted 5,100 trees across 5 countries, absorbing 2,443 tonnes of CO₂, a major step toward a more sustainable planet!

Our Partnership with Treedom

Treedom is the first web platform in the world for planting trees remotely and following their story online. 

In 2020, Schulte Group joined an agroforestry project in Guatemala coordinated by Treedom, AMKA (Non-Profit Organisation), local developers and farmers, with the goal to plant 1,200 trees. 

During the period 2022–2024, we planted an additional 3,900 mixed-species trees (Cashew, Coffee, Mango, Lime, Cotton trees and other) across five countries, as detailed below.

From 2025 onwards, we will be planting a high absorbing mix of 2,875 trees every year, aiming to remove CO₂ from the atmosphere in a highest yield. On average, 800kg of CO₂ will be absorbed per tree over 10 years.

Our Impact So Far: Where We Planted & What We Achieved

Kilimanjaro & Tanga Regions

Tanzania

Trees planted: 450 Focus: Reforestation near water sources, fruit production, and beekeeping. Impact: Reduced water exploitation, improved environmental quality, and alternative income for farmers.

Kilifi & Kwale Counties

Kenya

Trees planted: 180 Focus: Small-scale reforestation with local farmers. Impact: Enhanced food security, sustainable agriculture training, and economic empowerment.

Techiman & Tamale Regions

Ghana

Trees planted: 2,760 Focus: Combating desertification and drought. Impact: Strengthened ecosystems and improved livelihoods through agroforestry.

Petén & Huehuetenango

Guatemala

Trees planted: 1,430 Focus: Fruit trees in permaculture systems. Impact: Biodiversity protection, soil health, and diversified food production.

Elias Piña & Santiago Rodríguez

Dominican Republic

Trees planted: 280 Focus: Fruit tree cultivation. Impact: Boosted food production and community resilience.

Why This Partnership Stands Out

The impact measurement of Treedom's projects, validated by B Corp certifications and dedicated studies, demonstrates concrete benefits for the environment and communities, enhancing sustainability, income, and biodiversity.

Environmental Impact

  • CO₂ Absorption: 2,443 tonnes, helping fight climate change.
  • Tree Cover Gain: 19 hectares of restored forest ecosystems.
  • Biodiversity: 20 species planted, including 2 at risk of extinction (Caoba & Coffee).
